Cheesy Mission Figs with Pecans

Excellent with Le Cuvier 2009 Pinot Noir

4 ounces Cambozola cheese

4 ounces goat cheese

½ teaspoon Chapparel Garden star anise/vanilla bean balsamic (if unavailable, use ¼ teaspoon regular balsamic)

1 tablespoon Pinot Noir

12 to 14 toasted pecan halves (ground fine)

salt & pepper to taste

Mission figs (dried)

Pecans, chopped for garnish

Dry roast pecans in a skillet, being careful not to burn them. Set aside to cool & then finely grind them in a food processor. Blend cheeses, balsamic, Pinot, ground pecans, salt & pepper in food processor. Cut figs in a half lengthwise. Put cheese mixture in a pastry bag & pipe onto figs. Garnish with a piece of chopped pecan. Refrigerate & serve chilled.
